It is one more virus and in China, ignorance, doubt, awareness and then it grew into fear, desperate actions, hit and trial, with no idea of any cure.
Don’t worry, it will not last long since it is made in China, the initial approach was that light hearted. It travelled through the minds across the world and into many lungs. It got a reputation of being killer no.1 out of nowhere, putting other dreadful diseases behind.
If somebody dies, did he die of the covid-19, no, thank God.
Six months down the line, the improvement is acceptance. Once we accept its presence, we have to devise ways to co exist and that’s what we are doing and that’s what we have to do. Walking through a traffic, how we dodge, something similar we have to do to deal with this.
The recovery rates are higher than fatality. It is seen that immunity level and age mattered, though there are cases of 97 and 93 year olds among the recovered.
My sympathies are with the religions who are waiting for the this crisis to be over to get back to their miraculous healing practices
My Dr friend’s mother, aged 99 shared some interesting facts on Pandemic of 1918, the Spanish flu, of what she had heard from her father, about the devastating effect that flu had in the small village she lived. The ‘Flu’ had infected 500 million people across the globe including 2 million deaths in India alone! The virus had continued to circulate for the next 38 years

That mention of 1918 story was to show, in our new era of technology and AI, how far have we come ?
Since there was no vaccine and cures in site, only expertises from whatsapp university, I picked a few weapons to battle the Covid. The homeo medicine, arsenicum album 30, hot water with ginger, this and that, hand washing, distancing, masking, whatever, I participated in everything and sundry. I even undertook a travel to Himachal Pradesh under lot of constraints (though not advisable, I am sorry ). Not sure which of them has kept the enemy away from me, until NOW.
It has attacked people from every walk of life. Interestingly, many celebrities were tested, few turned out to be positive.
John Travolta was hospitalised for a suspected Coronavirus. But doctors soon realised that it was only a Saturday Night Fever and he will be Staying Alive.
Preventive measures:
Hands: wash them often with soap or use hand sanitizer. Over heard, my body has absorbed so much soap and disinfectant lately, now when I pee I clean the toilet.
Distancing - Xi Jingping’s message to the world – “No Ming Lin
Mask: Coughy filter
Have you had to wear glasses and a mask at the same time because of Covid-19?
You may be entitled to condensation.

Touch – Don’t touch your face. The best way to do that is to have wine in both your hand
Elbow : cough into it

The Positives
a. Improved Air Quality Index (AQI)

Himalayas from 100 miles away!
b. No Traffic
With companies asking their employees to work from home, it has reduced the number of vehicles on the road.

c. Family time– The work time and family time gets merged, eating healthy home cooked food and rounding yourself. Don’t tell your wife, food is not tasty, she will send you for a Covid test.
d. Time To Workout:
The extra time in our hands and the worry of gaining weight has prompted many people to start working at home.
The vocabularies from back burnersQuarantine – *During the QUARANTINE time it is considered normal to talk to your walls, plants and pots. Kindly contact us only if they reply.- Psychiatrists
One sure question in your next interview by HR -What new skill have you acquired during self quarantineLockdown – home arrest
Clap- Appreciation clap
WHM– work from home, has a danger of getting caught in your pyjamas

Novel Coronavirus – Why do they call it the novel coronavirus? It’s a long story…
Pandemic- Wide area network of endemic, nothing to do with Pandavas
Positive/negative – I have been lecturing around, be positive, now I have to stop saying that and think of the context, stay negative
Flatten the curve – The curve is flattening, we can lift the lockdown, like parachute descent rate has slowed, we can take it off.
Herd Immunity —It is not fair, humans are not herds.
Hydroxychloroquine —This is the word I have not mastered yet. I found myself saying things like Trump has asked India to send Hydrocele to treat the Virus
Hang on, you are telling me that they don’t have a cure for a disease that can be killed with soap?
Masking, distancing and hand washing is all that I am going to do, who is afraid of the covid wolf ? We shall follow the ahimsa (non violence) path (until we find a finisher) and defeat it by our fearlessness.

Loved it!
Thanks. The air is filled with this subject and nothing else comes to mind
Sooperb writing Rajammavan….nice combination of humor, fact, positivity and great message delivered too!!!….Adipoli👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼🙏🏽
Good to hear from you, Veena. Its been a long time. Glad you enjoyed it. I was a bit apprehensive whether to publish, a serious topic handled lightly.
Simply aromatic by the look of it. But I couldn’t actually smell it because my doctor told me not to inhale anything that is foreign, specially if it is Chinese.
Loved the list of humorous jokes and anecdotes to help us get through every day. Keep writing guy, looking forward to the next one.
I think you missed out the cases of people who drank the hand sanitizer thinking it’s alcohol. No laughing matter though. When I asked my doctor cousin about the condensation on glasses her response was you are not wearing the mask correctly she unfolded my mask and made me wear it from the top of my nose( bridge) to my chin. The problem was solved. Now nothing went in or out. I started blacking out. 😃
Dear Mr Menon, As always you have written well. I just loved it ! Thank you for sharing!
