Reaching 60 years of age is a milestone, which is an old standard, hence the retirement. Today with all the advancement, it can be shifted to 70. No, the retirement age remains 60, cut shorting the benefit of experience for the companies. Debatable, who needs it, Gavaskar advising Vaibhav Suryavanshi how to bat.
However, my age group has left retirement far behind and are close to another mile stone, 50th marriage anniversary, some of my friends have already crossed the line, a huff and puff achievement for most, if not all.
On 22nd of May, on my journey to Mandi, Himachal Pradesh stayed back at Delhi to attend the 50th marriage anniversary celebration of my batch mate and dear friend Piyush Alok and Sudha. Their children, grand children,l kin & kith rocked on the stage with their performances depicting their love, respect and pride for Alok and Sudha.
This event created an opportunity for me and Prema to meet a few of my batchmates and their spouse, Kamtha Singh, Lal Bahadur Rai, Rakesh Singh (I had attended his 50th marriage anniversary celebration at Vadodara, last month), Pradeep Srivastava, Rakesh Bakshi and Gurdeep Singh (Bakshi and Gurdeep, we are meeting for the first time after passing out from NIT, Rourkela 1973-thrilled).
Another hightlight for me was my meeting with Prerana, Alok’s talented daughter living in Mumbai. To know more about her and her activities just click on her website with a million followers ( there is something or the other for every body).

Finally at Mandi, after the celebration in Delhi, a week has passed by and I am low on my confidence, unable to distinguish between real and artificial. My grand daughter Anvita( almost 5) asks me which ice cream I would like to have, Chocolate, vanilla or blueberry.
“Since I have not tasted blueberry, I would like to try blueberry”, I tell her.
She leaves the scene and is back with the blue berry ice cream. It’s not cold at all and I try to scoop a small size when I realise it’s plastic. I thank her sheepishly and pretend to eat, all the while she is serious, it’s from Anvita Kitchen.

I was asked how do we measure success, when do you know you are successful. I said, For me it’s a good night’s sleep and a healthy poop.
Two old men sitting with the doctor, one said, Dr, no sleep, no poop. The doctor wrote a prescription and turned to the other what’s yours ? Good sleep and poop. Then where is the problem ? The poop happens around 6 in the morning and I wake up at 8.
