KARMASATTA

Hello dear ones, good to know you are happy, wondering how do I know, well otherwise you would not be reading this.

That reminds me a few lines from a book I am reading, it’s title is Jailor. The conversation goes like this

Saint: Who desires happiness
Audience: Rich, poor, healthy, unhealthy, educated, uneducated, each soul desires happiness.
S : when does one desire happiness, during the day or at night
A : All the twelve months, round the clock
S ;who desires unhappiness
A ; No one ever desires unhappiness
S : What kind of goods would any company like to produce
A: The best, profitable
S ; What if there is no demand for them, no company will make ” no demand” goods. Then why would a company called “Nature” create unhappiness, which no soul desires and bestows on to the souls. The answer to this is “Karma”. And the book goes on, of all that’s happening

I have come out of the book and now I am talking, would like to add from my side , Karmasatta, the spelling is correct, do not assume any auto correct, is the reward and punishment dispensing authority of the universe. You may be questioning, why bad things happen to good people, why the criminals get away Scot free. They may be escaping the country’s law and order system, not in Karmasatta’s court. It may not happen in this life, it can in the next. One way to console one self is to not believe in rebirth, that way if you escape in this life, you can mock Karma.

You can believe in God or disbelieve, fine ( either way no penalty). Our souls are programmed with options and decisions are ours, what you sow is what you get reap.
Our life is sum total of situations – physical, financial, family and social, that are good and satisfactory are nature’s gift and the torments are punishments.
No life will be without rewards and punishment, however happiness and unhappiness is our decision, to be happy or not to be
I am always in a happy mode, though you may not see it in my looks, then there are certain happening that gives a boost.

This month I had a visitor from Boston, my friend and batch mate Kannan Vembu, it’s  once a year meeting, sometime during  every March.

My friend Prof. Rajendra Khandekar from Denver, stays with me for 3 days, every December, however, this time he reached Kolhapur, fell ill and had to cancel his trip to Bangalore.

There are 2 friends, Preeth and Jahnavi, who calls to wish me on my birthday, of course there are many others, this require special mention, it’s around 20 years.since I have seen them.

I am grateful to all, for their time, effort and love for me. Love you all

While writing this post, I got a call from a friend, during our talk he asked me about my mother-in-law, who has crossed 100. I told him, she is doing fine.
“Do you know the difference between an outlaw and in-law ” he asked
I asked him “what”
He said “An out law is wanted, haha”.
That was funny and I countered ” in my case, my in-law is wanted because we are living on her Pension”./

-Bye for now, be happy

  1. Well written on a topic which is discussed many times.

A foreigner studied Hinduism and told that No religion could answer a question why a person is born as rich or as poor, intelligent or dull, with or without vision etc except Hinduism which says it is the calculated good or bad done by soul in the previous birth.

Similarly one foreigner met Kanchi maha periava and said he has no belief in rebirth and wished to know views from kanchi mahaperiava.

He gave one assignment to go around all hospital in Kanchi puram from Morning to evening and collect data of children born at the same time and come back.

He came and informed that a child was born for a poor man ,another born to a richman ,another child had heart disease when born, another child was healthy etc.

Kanchi mahaperiava told this is exactly the reason for rebirth of souls with different punyam/paavam .

Then he got convinced and went.

  2. The new word I learnt today is *KARMASATTA*

first I thought this was something to do with Karma then I realised after reading your blog, that I shouldn’t read it otherwise too (mispelt for Kamasutra).

    keep blogging dear Menon.

  3. Nice to see people in happy mode. There is a lot to learn from them, from people like you. It takes time to understand that happiness from external factors like entertainment, fun time with friends and anything external to you are short lived – we need that again and again. If one is happy in the core, nothing external matters. Of course it is more enjoyable with external factors, but deep within we know that we are happy due to our own behaviour and what we have become/done. Always grateful to you and your writings.
