Destination not too far

It’s 7 March and like the previous years, here is my birthday post. Thank you for your good wishes. Born in 1950, I can add a line every year, in 74 (1974) I was 24, in 24 (2024) I am 74. I think this brag is possible only for the 50 born.

Age is just a number, not for all. It’s fine for those who looked after their body through out. I have friends like colonel Tripathi and Mr. Kurian Thomas who run marathons and fifteen hundred metres in their seventies and eightiies. They are exceptions, one in a million or ten.

I am happy, I can walk, even rush a bit, not more, gentle dance . romance etc

The other day, I saw a lady carrying 2 luggages, on the railway Bridge above platform 2, She asked me which is the platform for the Kochi Train. I offered to carry her suitcase and said follow me.

Though the train starts from there it has not come from the yard, we sat there and waited, assured her it will come, it starts at 7 pm.

Around 6.45 the train arrived and we stood up,her compartment number was different from mine, strange these boggie’s had no numbers. Groups of people were being guided by someone and ushered into the train. I saw a conductor and asked him is this the Cochin train. He said that’s in platform 7 and here we are in platform 2.

When I told the lady, it is in platform 7, she panicked and there was no escalator. All the confidence I was giving her since last half an hour about train travel and its convenience blew up in smoke. I felt like the travel agent who is fraudster. Don’t worry, there is lot of time and I offered to carry both her bags, since I have only a back pack, she can take care of the steps.

Bravo me, how do I carry these two bags and go up the steps, when a divine girl appeared from nowhere and said uncle can I carry the bag for you. I told myself, old man, take her help, earlier days I would have volunteered to carry her bag also. I profusely thanked her and we reached platform 7 and managed to get into the train while it was whistling. Of course these days, trains do not whistle like old steam engine, blow horn, ..AAAMMMMM.
There’s more inside the train, I shall talk about it some other time, you are spared for the time being.

The reality n truth of LIFE so beautifully written..
YOUNG  and  OLD

I got this forward from Mr. S.D. Kalyanaswamy, who is 89.

When I was YOUNG,
I found it DIFFICULT to WAKE UP.
When I am OLD,
I find it DIFFICULT to SLEEP..

(My sleep is fine so far)

When I was YOUNG,
I was WORRIED about MY PIMPLES.
When I am OLD,
I am WORRIED about MY WRINKLES.

(I don’t look at me, so I do not see any wrinkles)

When I was YOUNG,
I was WAITING to HOLD someone’s HAND.
When I am OLD,
I am WAITING for SOMEONE to HOLD MY HAND.

( I am still ready to hold hands)

When I was YOUNG,
I wanted my parents to leave me alone
When I am OLD
I am worried to be left alone

(I still love my company, my best friend )

When I was YOUNG,
I HATED being ADVISED.
When I am OLD,
there is NO ONE around to TALK or ADVISE.

(That’s why I have a blog, I can say what I want , not worried who is reading)

When I was YOUNG,
I ADMIRED BEAUTIFUL THINGS.
When I am OLD,
I see BEAUTY in THINGS around ME.

(I still like beauties)

When I was YOUNG,
I felt I was ETERNAL.
When I am OLD,
I know SOON it will be MY TURN.

When I was YOUNG,
I CELEBRATED the MOMENTS.
When I am OLD,
I am CHERISHING MY MEMORIES.

( did not have time to think about destination, now plenty of time)

When I was YOUNG,
I WANTED to be a HEART – THROB.
When I am OLD,
I am WORRIED when will MY HEART STOP.

It’s still throbing, not worried about the stop)

At EXTREME STAGES of OUR LIFE,
WE WORRY but WE DON’T REALIZE,
LIFE NEEDS to BE EXPERIENCED.

(Worry gets you nowhere)

It DOESN’T MATTER whether YOUNG or OLD. LIFE needs to be lived and LIVED WITH LOVE & LOVED ONES . You are surely one of these.

(Looking at my statements inside the bracket, I am not yet there)

Another beautiful message sent by my friend Annie

We read the above and forget. Keep life simple, it works.

Here is an art work by Rajeesh, my family member, we live under the same roof

I am happy, I do not recall any downtime, called them routemaps of life. A birthday is a reminder that you are closer to your destination.

Last week I realized I am not famous enough because I did not get an invitation to Mr Ambani’s son’s pre wedding celebration. I am wondering what needs to be done to get an invitation for the wedding, otherwise life is great.
