Hello dear ones,
I finally made it to Hyderabad to meet, Mr. Kalyanaswamy, who touched 90 on the second of June. When I had checked with him about his schedule, he said he is at Rishikesh and would return a day before my visit. Felt reassured about his health and happy with my timing of the visit.
I had met him only once, six years ago and after 2 cancelled meetings, here I could make it. Nothing happens before it’s time, acceptance of that taught me patience.

An additional bonus of this visit was the hospitality of my friend and batch mate (1973) BK Mahapatra and his better half Indira. Thank you for the wonderful time I had with you.

Back in Bangalore, we had visitors, Rajeesh’s sister and family, took a day out to visit the Pyramid valley on Kannakapura road, 35 km from Bangalore, world’s largest (I am not sure) meditational Pyramid, embraced by natural rocks, beautiful hills and water bodies ( did not notice that). Walked into a large hall, with steps to reach the energy centre of the Pyramid to meditate.

A year after my marriage, I got interested in meditation. A simple process, where you close your eyes and focus on your third eye situated between your eyebrows. Simple ? Your thoughts takes you all around the world except your pineal gland. When I started , I think, to get a small grip over it, I would be disturbed out of it by my spouse, either by banging the door, or dropping a vessel or remembering some urgent work. I was wondering why this intentional interruptions. Any way, I gave up. I think she must have thought of me getting enlightened and walk away like Budha and abandon the family. I resumed my practice recently, now, she doesnt interrupt, confident this is as far as I will go

After a week Chitra and Rajeesh wanted to go on a trip to Udupi, Kollur, murdeswar, Gokarna. Keeping up her good manners, she asked me whether I would like to join the trip. To her shock, I said yes and two days later we were on.
Good roads, beautiful weather, intermittent friendly rains made the travel beautiful. After visiting Udipi and Kollur we drove to Murdeswar, my first time. Murdeswar lies on the coast of Arabian sea, boasts of the world’s third tallest Shiva statue. Since we left our footwears a little too early from the temple, we burnt our feet on the hot floor walking (forced to run), to reach the comfort of the deity.
After an hour and half moved to Gokarna and checked into the hotel near the beach. On the beach, I saw the sun and gave half an hour time for it to touch the water and display its art work around it. The clouds were nearby almost taunting us saying I will decide about the sunset.

Meanwhile I shifted my attention to the wavess. The first wave rushed up from far, mellowed down and shied away from a distance. The second one came a bit closer and returned. I kept telling them, it’s OK to come and give me hug. The next one came, touched my feet gently and rolled away. It became bolder and reached my knee high. There came a stage when it looked like it would take my pants off and I stepped back to safety

The cloud did their mischief and stopped the sun from painting the sky. Never mind, grateful for the great time..
Next day stop at Jog falls,, with rains around expected the fall in all it’s glory. When we reached there, it looked lik e the dressing was not over, it will take another two months before I am ready.

Every short coming was compensated by the Jolly home stay managed by a loving çouple, Natraj and Devika by their love and service

Looking back that’s a lot of ground and water covered
thanks Rajender for visiting me in Hyderabad. My son also met you and he appreciated that you came all the way from Bangalore just to meet me
Thanks again and hope to meet you again
regards
kalyanaswamy
A great 90th birthday wish to our dear Mr. Kalyanswamy from Vishranth Vani.
A Memorable Connection: My Meeting with Mr. Kalyanasamy
Six years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Kalyanasamy, then 84 years old, for
the first time. He greeted me with a bouquet and despite our differences in seniority and
location—he held a senior position in Ranchi while I was a junior in Bangalore—we
found a shared bond through MECON and “Vishranth Vani,” our newsletter for ex-
MECONians. Occasionally, I contributed articles to it. Over time, I took over the
editorship of the newsletter, and while I hoped my changes reflected positively, I was
mindful of the high standards he had set. Organized, meticulous, and deeply committed,
Mr. Kalyanasamy has been a source of inspiration.
One of the highlights of our relationship is his appreciation for my blogs. We exchange
a wealth of information and have discovered many shared interests. What stands out
most to me is that he took the time and effort (which he calls a pleasure) to meet me—
just me—making me feel incredibly special.
This act of kindness ranks at the very top of my list of cherished moments.
The Journey to Hyderabad
For years, I had promised to visit him in Hyderabad. Two years ago, I even booked my
tickets, only to cancel when my daughter and her family made a surprise visit from
Dubai. After a long wait, I decided to finally make the trip on June 4th, just two days
after his 90th birthday. I hoped this timing would allow us to have exclusive time
together.
When I called to confirm his schedule, he informed me that he was in Rishikesh and
would return to Hyderabad on June 3rd. The news of his trip reassured me about his
health; being in a place like Rishikesh at the age of 90 spoke volumes about his vitality.
A Blissful Meeting
Finally, I made it to his house and spent three blissful hours with him and his family—
his wife Savitha, daughter Shobha, and son Ashok. Listening to Mr. Kalyanasamy talk
about his work life, his international travels for various projects, and his family life was
truly absorbing. His vast and fascinating experiences reflect a life well lived.
When asked who I was meeting in Hyderabad, I replied, ―Someone I don’t know much
about, except that he has made me feel special.‖
Thank you, Sir. Affectionately yours,
Dear Rajendra
Your blog is quite descriptive and took me to the places you visited. Keep it up.
Dear Rajan Menon,
Enjoyed your narrative and description. The photographs, specially Murdeswar has inspired me to make visit to those beautiful place at the earliest. 👍
Thank you Rajen, very nice reading that drives down lot of positivity (typical of all your narratives), doubly refreshing as the scenes reminded me of our earlier travel to Sivamogga, Jog falls and locations around.
